LIFe Arena Safeguarding

Our commitment

Everyone who comes to LIFe Arena has the right to play, train and coach in a safe, welcoming environment, free from harm, abuse and discrimination.

Life Arena Ltd is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults at risk who use our venue, whether they’re taking part in our own coaching sessions and holiday camps or attending a session run by a club, school or coach hiring the space.

We follow the safeguarding guidance of The Football Association and the England and Wales Cricket Board, and we work with local safeguarding partners in Leicestershire and Northamptonshire. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and we’ll always act on any concern, however small it seems.

How we keep people safe

Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Amy Daniels is our Designated Safeguarding Lead and the first point of contact for any concern.

Safer recruitment.
Everyone who coaches or works with children or adults at risk on our behalf holds an enhanced DBS check and up-to-date safeguarding training.

Qualified coaches.
Our coaches hold recognised coaching qualifications and first aid training.

Codes of conduct.
Coaches, players, parents and spectators are expected to follow our codes of conduct, which promote respect, fair play and inclusion.

Supervision.
Children are supervised at all times during our sessions and camps, and are only released to a parent, guardian or named adult.

Safe facilities.
Changing and toilet facilities are used appropriately, and adults must never share changing facilities with children.

Photos and video.
We never take or publish images of children without consent from a parent or guardian. Personal photography during sessions is only allowed with the session leader’s agreement.

Online safety.
Our staff and coaches only contact young people through their parents or guardians, or through official club channels.

Information.
We keep personal information, including medical and emergency details, secure and confidential, in line with our privacy policy

Clubs, schools and coaches hiring the venue

When you hire LIFe Arena, you’re responsible for safeguarding everyone taking part in your session. As a condition of hire, we ask all hirers to:

  • have their own safeguarding policy, or follow their club’s, school’s or governing body’s policy
  • make sure everyone working with children or adults at risk holds an appropriate DBS check and safeguarding training
  • keep appropriate supervision ratios for the age and ability of the group
  • have a named person responsible for safeguarding at every session
  • report any safeguarding concern that arises at the venue to us as well as through their own procedures

We may ask to see evidence of your safeguarding arrangements before confirming a booking.
